I've been supporting PC's, laptops and servers for over 20+ years and know how the support centres work.Īt this stage, I've no intention of doing a factory reset as it won't resolve the issue and it would take me 3 or more days to get my G752 back to where it was at an application level if I were to go down the reinstall route (I'd rather clone and restore but lacking the understanding of what else this update might have done I won't want to pursue that just yet. This shows either a lack of understanding of the issue by the support personnel or that they are mindlessly following a standardised script - I have the same problem with my colleagues offshore - not their fault but all it does is annoy customers who then have a system that is not only still not working but will then have to reinstall their apps etc. Unless the base level firmware is included in the Asus factory reset and I've never seen this provided in the past, a factory reset won't resolve the issue. As this issue is at the firmware level, using the Windows 10 or Asus Factory Reset won't resolve the issue as this only restores Windows and not the firmware. Both the Factory Reset and the Windows (Reset this PC) option restore the Operating System back to it's initial installation state.
If you guys have not noticed, there are actually 2 different G752VS 0306 bios versions posted on the ASUS download site and only one says 'fix keyboard issue' while the other one does not.Īgain, prefer you guys to wait for me to get more info, but wondering if there is a certain combination of the 0306 bios versions with the ASUS Keyboard Adjustment Tool V1.0.1.0 that should be used, or if it's included as part of one of the bios versions, but just guessing at this point, so want to get some official information first.Ī factory reset is unlikely to resolve the issue being experienced. If you are comfortable trying it, there is a *.50 ATK driver posted on the G752VS download site, but if you don't mind waiting, I'll check to confirm if this is what you should update to solve it.

Sadly, I'm a bit out of the loop for this issue and am not sure even how everyone is getting these updates (ASUS Live Update?), but if you didn't already know, suggest staying away from them know until I can convince someone to either remove/fix them or find out how to solve this. I'll pass it along and let you guys know what I hear.
